Audio Mode
Negotiation
Software Version: 3.2b9
Problem:
Scenario: Setting the desired audio mode for
a conference to "PT724 preferred".
If a site dialing in does not support PT724
(older PCTL system or competitive system)
the audio switches back to G.711. This
happens even if all systems support G.722.
Resolution:
If the Videoserver MCS is configured for
PT-724 preferred:
then the Videoserver MCS will first try to
negotiate audio at PT-724
else it will negotiate in G.711 (
not
G.722).
The DSP only has PT-724 and G.711 code
loaded on it.
There is no G.722 code loaded so it will
never negotiate to it.
