"Files in use" error when copying HPU and QM track files.

Symptoms:
"Files in use" error when copying HPU and QM track files using the "copy" command.

Problem:
Using the file transfer method of copying files such as QM.TRK and HPU.TRK over the Workstation serial link can take up to 20 minutes. It is possible to copy these files to diskette on the system console but the 'active' files are locked and any attempt to copy them will show any error stating that the "files are in use".

Resolution:
Use the 'type' command which will allow copying of the "in use" files as shown in the example below.

c:\type filename.xxx a:filename.txt

This will copy the file from the hard drive to the floppy drive.
